Dec. 14 - Feb. We are excited to announce that the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit will kick off the season with a display at the Washburn Cultural Center in Washburn, Wisconsin from December 14, 2012 through the end of February 2013. We are especially excited to be working close to home with our surrounding communities. During this time, we will also be giving a number of our special presentations and programs designed to reconnect children and adults alike, with the importance of the natural world around us. Please check back to find out additional information on our scheduled programs and events. Hope to see you there!

We are very pleased to announce that the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit is on display at the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. This is a beautiful, newly renovated facility on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness. The Wolf Center’s mission of Teaching the World About Wolves is a perfect match with 'Our Shared Planet's' mission to Raise Awareness of the Importance of the Natural World Around Us. As a top predator, the wolf holds a very important role in maintaining balanced and healthy ecosystems. The wolf also holds a special place in our spirits and hearts. Stop by and see the OSP exhibit and check out the center’s excellent programming, beautiful interpretive center, and meet their resident wolves. It’s a real treat! Be sure to check out the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit while it is on display at this beautiful location while you are enjoying the north-land and the 'Big Lake'.  We will be running a series of programs and presentations during this extended exhibition, so please check their website www.northerngreatlakescenter.org and ours for newly scheduled events.  The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week and offers plenty to interest the whole family.  We'll look for you there!
 
May 8th 'Our Shared Planet' is a featured presenter at this years Earth Tracks event at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth, Minnesota.  Jim will display a number of specially selected animal ambassadors from the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit and give demonstrations and tours of the OSP solar powered trailer/workshop.  We are proud to be a part of this two day event with regional environmental organizations educating on lessening our carbon footprint on the planet.  To learn more go to www.lszoo.org under events.

Cable Natural History Museum, Cable Wisconsin
We are pleased to announce the Our Shared Planet exhibit will be on display in the Cable Natural History Museum's beautiful new facility.  We will also be doing a series of programs and presentations for children and adults alike.  Those dates will be listed the week before the opening date of Jan. 22nd on this website and the museums at www.cablemuseum.org'Our Shared Planet' and the Natural History Museum both share the same mission of connecting people to the importance of the natural world around us.  This will be a great partnership and we hope to see you there!

Northland College, Ashland Wisconsin       
We are happy to announce 'The Our Shared Planet' exhibit visit to Northland College has been extended to include this years incoming students.  The exhibit will remain set up in the Dexter Library through September 20th, and is open to the public during library hours.  Jim will give a special presentation of the OSP slide-show 'A Journey Through Nature To Creativity' in the Alvord Theatre on Sept. 16th,  6:30 PM.  The presentation is free and open to both students and the public.  This event is sponsored by Northland's Outdoor Education Program & The Nature and Culture Department.

The Midwest Regional Collaborative for Sustainability Education Workshop (MRCSE), Northland College, Ashland Wisconsin   
We are very excited to be part of this innovative workshop.  'The Our Shared Planet' exhibit will be on display throughout the MRCSE conference in the Northland College library.  Jim will also be taking part in the workshop as an invited Wise Elder (elder as measured by understanding not age of the body) and storyteller.  We will post more details on this event as they arrive. www.mrcse.org

 
May 14th Chequamegon Bay Energy & Environmental Fair 
4PM-8PM Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion, Bayfield, WI. We are happy to be part of this exciting new event in our hometown.  Jim will be giving solar demonstrations with the Our Shared Planet trailer just outside the pavilion.  Stop in for a visit!

Jim will treat the kids to a special presentation of the OSP slideshow 'A Journey Through Nature To Creativity' in the gymnasium.  The students will also get to experience a number of the sculptures from the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit.

 
Winter 2009 This winter has been a busy one for Jim.  He is currently carving a pair of Timber wolves, howling out the message of 'Our Shared Planet'.

  Fall & Winter 2008 Jim has been busy creating many commission pieces these past months, including a bull moose, a pair of swimming dolphins, and several life-sized bald eagle feathers.  Jim has also begun work on an exciting new piece that he will add to the permanent collection of the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit.  Check it out on the Gallery page under Works in Progress.
 
  Feb. 1 - April 12 We are thrilled that the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit will be on display at the Hartley Nature Center from Feb. 1 - April 12.  There will be a Grand Opening reception on Fri. Feb 15th beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Jim's slide presentation "A Journey Through Nature To Creativity" at 7p.m.  You will have a unique opportunity to participate in a silent auction bid on a hand carved life-sized Bald Eagle Feather.  It balances on a sculpted base in a beautiful display case.  This piece has been especially created for this event and is truly a work of art!  The silent auction will begin on the evening of the Grand Opening and and will continue through the date of the final presentation in March or April (date to be announced).  The sculpture will be awarded to the highest bidder during that evening.  Please take a moment to visit the Hartley Nature Center's web site at www.hartleynature.org.
 
  April 2008 'Our Shared Planet' will be spreading its message of good stewardship of the planet, by visiting the Bayfield, Wisconsin schools, during the week of Earth Day.  Students will participate in hands-on art activities, tour the solar powered workshop, and attend Jim's inspirational slide presentation.

  Jan 22 - April 1 Don't miss artist Jim Ramsdell's traveling environmental awareness sculpture exhibit 'Our Shared Planet' on display at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center in Ashland, Wisconsin  Jan. 22 - April 1.  Also enjoy a slideshow as Jim takes you on a journey through nature into the wilds of Alaska, where he discovered his artistic gift hidden within, along with the creative process behind these amazing sculptures.

Opening reception and slide show Jan. 27 at 6 pm.

Second slide showing Sunday Feb. 25.  Meet the artist from 2:00 - 3:00 pm followed by the slide presentation from 3:00 - 4:30 pm.

We are excited to announce that the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit will be on display in the beautiful capitol rotunda.  A slideshow presentation of OSP's "A Journey Through Nature to Creativity" will be featured Wednesday, May 2nd at 3 pm.

July 26th Madeline Island School of the Arts, La Pointe, WI
1-3:30 p.m.  Join artist for a children's workshop where students ages 8 and up will paint their own wooden fish.  The program will also feature a slide presentation, sculpture exhibit, and demonstrations in the artist's solar powered workshop.

October 13th The Audubon Center of the North Woods, Sandstone, Minnesota.  Join Jim at the beautiful ACNW for a special evening.  It will feature a time to meet the artist and view some of the carvings from the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit accompanied by hors d'oeuvres at 6:00 pm. followed by a fabulous dinner at 6:30.  At 7:30 you will be treated to Jim's inspirational slide presentation 'A Journey Through Nature To Creativity'.  You will also be given an opportunity to bid on an exquisite sculpture created especially for this event.  This life-size Bald Eagle primary feather is carved from basswood and painted with acrylics to exacting detail.  It is balancing on a sculpted walnut base and stands in an acrylic case, at 24 inches tall.  It will have you asking "Is it real , or is it....?".  The cost of this event is $20 including dinner.  For reservations and info contact the Audubon Center of the North Woods @ 888-404-7743 or audubon1@audubon-center.org.

'Our Shared Planet's' children's program of "A Journey Through Nature To Creativity" at the Bayfield Carnegie Library. Featuring a presentation and demonstrations by artist Jim Ramsdell, a tour of the solar powered workshop, and a hands on project for all participating children.   Nov 13th-14th 'Our Shared Planet' visit to Wilson School in Janesville, Wisconsin. Artist in Residence program featuring Jim Ramsdell. Demonstrations and a presentation will be given along with a hands on art project for all students.
 
  Nov 16th-30th Rotary Gardens, Janesville, Wisconsin. This event will feature the full setup of the 'Our Shared Planet' exhibit for two weeks along with programs for children and adults alike. Two evening programs featuring OSP's powerful slide presentation "A Journey Through Nature To Creativity" will be given, one on each night of the 25th and 29th of November.
